Canadian Canadian Paul Gordychak arrives in Ukraine as an instructor for the Ukrainian Sheriff program. The unexpected loss of a colleague forces Paul not only to stay after the contract is completed, but also to become the main precinct of the Carpathian town of Nagura.

The meticulous, honest Canadian, accustomed to obeying rules and laws, faces the realities of Ukrainian border life, where illegal deforestation, smuggling, illegal migration thrive, and criminals remain unpunished. In addition, Paul is hunted by a professional killer, and new teammate Stepan Fomin is not happy about the newly appointed sheriff.

The film is based on years-long investigations into two Russian journalists now living in Europe - Anastasia Kyrylenko and Vladimir Ivanidze, who have investigated Putin's ties with Russian criminals and set up criminal money-laundering schemes since the 1990s.

Once on the verge of life and death, Sonya now decides to do only what she wants. Will she be able to recover and establish a personal life?
