A young volunteer on an old minibus is trying to bring vital things to the military in the East, where there are fighting, but there are difficulties along the way. People far from volunteering are trying to help the guy. The film shoots a real volunteer car that has driven more than 1000 km in the war zone, delivering medicines and evacuating the wounded.

School. School playground. Classes are over and students are having fun and noisy falling out of school. It just rained on the street and there are lots of puddles on the asphalt. And on the aisle - the largest and widest puddle, it is almost impossible to get around without getting your feet wet. Teens are grouping themselves into beads and thinking about how to overcome the puddle. A guy appears on the cart, followed by a teenage girl. You can see that the girl likes the boy, and he is nice to her. The guy smiles and cleverly kneels the heroine, and, to the surprise of his classmates, transports the heroine through a large puddle.

“Hedgehog in Africa” – musical adventures cartoon for the youngest; because this continent attracts everyone – beasts, pirates, children... and cinematographers.

The beginning of author’s story was laid by "Hedgehog in Love" cartoon (2015). Continuation – a short "Hedgehog in Africa" painted by children with the participation of professional animators. Film is created in various techniques: dolls, painted, and stop motion animations.

In Askania-Nova, various types of animals and people with completely different characters are consumed. Director of the Reserve Viktor Semenovich communicates with buffaloes, zebras and pelicans, as if with humans. For a former employee of Mr. Nicholas, this place has become a refuge from the cynicism of the outside world. A young scientist, Pasha, counts birds for days and makes friends with local rappers until he faces a difficult life choice. For a whole century, Askania-Nova has been protecting nature from human-induced change. But will she accept the changes necessary for her own survival?

The film is about the fate of the abandoned city of Polesie from the exclusion zone.

Polissya was the second largest city in the Chornobyl region, after the Pripyat region, but it was not displaced for 13 years after the disaster. The authorities created conditions for people to remain; moreover, they even built new homes in the city for those displaced from Pripyat. All this time, the residents were not informed of the 10x excess of the radiation background. Resettlement only ended in 1999.

Life flows with its everyday reality, but suddenly something imperceptibly changes its course. All that remains is to immerse yourself in the memories in which everything is kept intact, as if in a museum. Mariupol is a spa town. The sea is the joy of swimming and relaxing. Suddenly, there is war in this picture, which has been the same for many years.

Ukrainian New Wave is a project of presenting the best short films by Ukrainian debutants this year. Launched by the National Center of Alexander Dovzhenko in 2012, it annually presents the best short films by young Ukrainian directors who have been screened and received at national and international film festivals.

Mark L. Tulipanov was born and raised in Lugansk. He thinks he is buried there. He has a garden, children and a grandson he loves very much, as well as a cat Donbass and a dog Malva. The political transformations of 2014 are changing the habitual way of life as he watches his family split into friends. Mark Lvovich is convinced that he will live to age at home, but when the war comes to Lugansk, he is forced to leave, leaving the garden, the cat and the dog. But this unfortunate new life does not end ...
