Thirteen short stories based on documentary material show a panorama of life in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, when power institutions, family and professional ties break up, when things cease to be called by their names.

The events of the film take place in the Ukrainian province, where the story of 5-year-old rebellious Branch, her cousin-teenage sister Larissa and her beloved young bandit Scar unfolds.

After the death of her father, Larissa faces the question of her future. Larissa wants to do her fortune with her own hands, but for her love of the Scarf she is condemned by her family. A grandmother who is worried only by what people say and is exhausted by Larissa's mother pushes her into a stereotypical life scenario. Larissa and Scar are planning to run away from bandits, devastation and relatives together.

Oksana and Tolik are a couple who have lived together for almost 30 years. Oksana, as the dominant woman in the family, considers Tolik completely independent. Choosing clothes at the Khmelnytsky Bazaar, she asks her husband to wear a T-shirt. He reluctantly steps into the blind and turns into a seven-year-old boy. Doctors are powerless and no one can bring him back. Oksana clings to old life, but the problem is more serious than she thought.

Telemaster Roman makes his living by repairing TVs and selling Polish antennas on the market, but once his loneliness breaks his arrival to the provincial town of the classmate People. During her school years, Roman loved her, but after graduation, no one had heard of her for over twenty years. The novel invites her to visit the wine and remember the old times, because much has changed during this time. They have grown old, their dreams have never come true in real life, and the future holds nothing good. During the course of one evening, the two lonely get closer, and Roman does his best to be together at least now.

The life story of Vasily Slipak - an opera singer with a world name and unique voice and a participant in the war in the Donbass.

Basil was born in Lviv, but later in search of a musical realization, having a unique voice - counter-coach, moved to France. He lived there for 19 years and found everything we used to call "happiness": a name, a successful career on the world opera stages, loyal friends and love. He actively participated in the Dignity Revolution, leading demonstrations in France, and later joined the volunteer movement in helping Ukraine. It would seem that he was doing more than enough as a man of art. But Vasil decided to leave the stage and career in Europe and join the ranks of volunteers when his home country came to war. While performing the combat task, Vasyl Myth Slipak was killed by a sniper's bullet.

The story unfolds over a two-week stretch at one battalion airport in 2014. For the first time, a volunteer group arrives at a hot spot that has been defended by our military for four months, and face the dreaded face of war. Not only professional military but also volunteer corps protect her. This collision - an absolute challenge for the whole world - was the beginning of the formation of a new self-identification of the citizens of Ukraine.
