The director of this film only grabbed a camera and a few batteries before his hometown, Kyiv, got hit by a missile barrage. In 20 minutes, he received a call from Andriy Tsaplienko, a famous war journalist. Andriy needed a cameraman to help him film the news. With just two batteries and a handycam, a TV story about the shelling was created. Later it became the first episode of the movie titled 'The light Slipping Through'. The director, acting as the cameraman, had a unique chance to capture every aspect of the war journalist's life.

The movie explores dealing with fear, the thrill of finding interesting news stories, and the unexpected consequences of that devotion. Andriy got injured after his film crew was deliberately shelled in the outskirts of a besieged city in the northern part of Ukraine. And now a war journalist is stuck in a hospital room, moving slowly with crutches. In his search for meaning in this war, Andriy realizes that his reportages are not wanted right now. Using a big network of informants, the protagonist helps intelligence locate where the Russian forces . One of his informants, a close friend, disappears after sending important data about enemy air defense systems. Despite the injuries, the protagonist finds the strength to look for his missing friend. The film follows Andriy’s journey through towns and cities, searching for his lost friend and seeking for inner light. Despite the pain, the protagonist finds everything he was looking for.
