Inspired by an essay written by Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) in 1940, describing the horrors experienced by the civilians during the London Blitz, Vyacheslav Turyanytsya paints a picture of contemporary Kyiv, as a place where the continuation of daily activity, under extreme circumstances, is in itself an act of resistance. A gentle and touching city symphony, submerged in an ominous soundscape.
