The story of a 30-year-old man who comes to his grandfather's house where he has not been since childhood. Neighbors forget and do not recognize Sanya, and finding a common language with others is very difficult. The only one who recognizes him is Sophia. The girl did not have a personal life, and moreover, she was left with the baby herself. The main characters were seen as friends in childhood, but now there is a gulf between them. Sophia lives upstairs in the house where Sanka's grandfather lived, and Sanko himself lives by the memories of the past and behaves here as a seven-year-old boy.

Paul, a 35-year-old widower, is raising two children himself: Lucy, eight years old, and four-year-old Petya. Paul keeps apiary in the village, and constant employment does not allow him to pay enough attention to children. When the child welfare inspectors threaten to take Petya and Lucy to boarding school, Paul makes a radical decision. He posts in the newspaper that he needs a wife who can look after his children.

The ad is responded to by a peer of Paul, librarian Natalia - a lonely woman with a huge margin of tenderness. Paul accepts Natalia as a family for probation. He still has not recovered after the death of his wife and is struggling to come to terms with the appearance of a new woman in his home. Natalia has a hard time coping with baby jealousy and Paul's wary attitude towards her. And the rural paramedic Zoe, who has a view of Paul, comes up with plans on how to bring him down.
