Based on the play of the same name by Mykola Kulish.

The film is set in the 1920s and tells of a brief period of "introduction" of the Ukrainian language. This is the story of one crazy person living in the same crazy world.

Landslide represents post-revolutionary Ukraine through the community of people who ‘try to build a new society’ in the cracks and pores of a collapsing social system. The film unfolds in a space that has been reclaimed from the city by forces of nature – in the very centre of Ukrainian capital Kiev. As a result of a series of landslides, this space has become untenable and was subsequently occupied by the outcasts and outsiders of all kinds. Its now alo an important meeting spot for counterculture and artistic underground. A secretive graffiti team, a group of DIY -geeks and an avant-garde gay theatre that fled the war in Luhansk all struggle to create a place where they could coexist outside the pressure of dysfunctional social structures.

Once a happy couple, Nurse Barbarian and firefighter Bartholomew have long lived a mercantile life where there is no place for love. Bartholomew is busy with affairs, Barbarian and his son go to Cairo, where they get acquainted with George. In Barbarians an affair with him.

Some time later, Bartholomew is abducted on the orders of some Gogh, and Barbara and the child fall into the hands of Sikach, who counts on a solid ransom and closes them in his apartment. Barbarians escape, but are haunted by the deaths of loved ones and acquaintances.

Bartholomew also runs away from his guards, while receiving a gunshot wound to the leg. He is assisted by Mary, a woman with a gun who leads a secluded lifestyle. Bartholomy is again caught and tortured. Maria shoots the bandits. Bartholomew also dies with the murdered criminals.

Desperate Barbara comes home to George, who turns out to be the same bandit Goga. However, he is also dead. The killer is his mistress, who he used to catch Bartholomew.
