The first part of the film takes place on the outskirts of ancient Jerusalem. Iscariot in the sweat of his brow processes a stone field - a field of blood purchased for 30 pieces of silver - the price of betraying Jesus. The grandfather, a pilgrim who travels to Jerusalem, stops near a field across from the water and recognizes the traitor of Christ in Judah. Judas justifies his crime with his morality. Each person is given the right of choice and the right to repent.
In the second part, the action goes to the gilded mansions of the representative of Rome - the tetrarch Husse, where human suffering is treated as an interesting way to fill the mental void.
