Director Dmitro Konovalov (II)

A veteran of the Afghan war, an instructor at a school of bodyguards and a master of martial arts, he proved to be completely helpless in civilian life. Gennady Torkachenko and his family (wife and two small children) have been waiting in line for more than twenty years for an apartment to which he is entitled as an internationalist soldier.

The last time Gennady checked his turn for housing was five years ago. He was then told that he had moved to 116th place. But since new housing is not being built, they will look for an apartment from the exchange fund. Like many people in this situation, Gennady does not know his rights, has no idea where to go and does not understand who is able to help him. Being a military man accustomed to action, he does not know what to do and therefore does nothing.

Director Natalіya Іlychuk

Euroteleport speaks of alienation and isolation of Ukrainian migrant workers passed on from generation to generation.

The film explores the idea of migrant individuals, who, by virtue of their thanatological character, are perhaps the most alive, the most free individuals, according to the theories of Gilbert Simondon. Consequently, following to the logic of freedom expressed through mobility, the question of collective identity disappears as soon as individual mobility begins.
