A year has passed since the bandits shot at police captain Igor Svetlov. They also blew up the car of the former chief of the city air force, and now the businessman and the main enemy of Svetlov – Sergey Kravchuk. After the wounding, Svetlov survived and remained in the police force, was promoted, headed the Criminal Investigation Department. However, the tragedy endured made Igor more violent: he closed himself and stopped hiding that his fight against crime was pointless. Increasingly, Svetlov began to think about leaving the service and leaving the city with which he had so many tragic memories. But he gave himself word that he would not leave the authorities until the killers were punished.

The same goal is pursued by Kravchuk, who returned from abroad, where he suffered several difficult operations after the car exploded. But if a police officer, Svetlov, in the course of his own investigation is to act within the law, Kravchuk is no longer bound by any conventions.
