Maxim Skorobogatov, a Ministry of Health official and a handsome man from the capital, is going on a business trip to the provincial town of Zoryansk on behalf of the minister to disband a dilapidated local hospital, which is to be replaced by a modern medical center.

Maxim gets sick on the spot, he is brought to the same hospital, which he has to close. To his surprise, life in the hospital is key, doctors, despite the total lack of essentials, bravely fight for each patient, in addition, the hospital building is located next to a mineral spring, the water of which seems to be unique.

The chief doctor, Karpilovsky, is sure that they just want to destroy the hospital and throw the staff out into the street. But Maxim does not immediately believe it, because the mayor of Sutyagin seems to be a good man.

Therapist Olga Mateshko works at Zoryansky Hospital and loves her job. She is raising her son Misha alone, who is struggling with a serious illness, so there is not enough time for a dissertation. Olga desperately knocks out a quota for her son for a rare and expensive operation, she has nothing to do with the capital's bonvian, as she initially perceives Maxim. But the more Maxim is immersed in the problems of people and hospitals, the more clearly Olga understands that she likes him.

And when Maksym is convinced that the mayor is really darkening and pursuing his goals, closing hospitals, when he becomes a real threat to local corrupt officials, then his quiet, regular business trip will end ...
