Based on the book by Yuriy Borets In the Whirlpool of Fighting.

The events took place in 1944-1947 in the territory of Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland, an area where millions of Ukrainians originally lived, initially captured by Bolshevik Russia, then the Third Reich, and after the war, Stalin donated to communist Poland. One hundred fighters of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army led by Mykhailo Duda – Gromenko appeared in the wake of these tragic events ... It is clear that the forces were unequal, and the power of spirit, belief in the final victory, moved the unbreakable Iron Hundred, whose remains in 1947. carried out a heroic raid to the West, to Bavaria, which was then controlled by the US military administration.

The heroes of the film, based on real facts, are young Ukrainians who deliberately went to the ranks of the UPA.
