Six-year-old Masha is sent to an orphanage after her parents' death. There she meets Dima, who promises to be always there and protect her. Years later, Dima is taken from the orphanage, he soon joins the army, and his relationship with Masha is cut off.

The girl, meanwhile, is studying at a culinary college and starts working in a restaurant. There she meets Oleg, who soon confesses to her. But Masha learns that Oleg's companion is the same Dima. Unexpectedly for himself, Dima realizes that he is jealous of Masha.

A few days before the wedding, Oleg and Dima were involved in an accident, a car knocked down a man. While Dima tries to help the victim, Oleg flees the scene in a panic. The patrol decides that Dima is to blame for the tragedy, because the car belongs to him and there is no one else at the scene. Oleg informs Masha about this tragedy. She is shocked by the news that Dima knocked down a man. Especially since she lost her father in a car accident.
