A documentary featuring testimonies from people who remember the 1933 famine in Ukraine.

The Holodomor was a mass-scale, man-made famine organised in the Ukrainian SSR in 1932–1933 by the leadership of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) and the government of the USSR. Ukraine was the hardest hit, with millions of people dying of starvation. This famine has been recognised as genocide against the Ukrainian people. According to demographic estimates, the total number of victims of the Holodomor in the Ukrainian SSR is 3–7 million people. According to estimates by the M. Ptukha Institute of Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukraine’s demographic losses as a result of the Holodomor in 1932–1933 amount to approximately 4.5 million people, including 3.9 million due to excess mortality and a further 600,000 due to a birth deficit.

The film is based on the stories of 25 individuals who work in the civil service or have had a direct connection with public administration.

The film featured Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of Latvia from 2004 to 2007; Maati Maasikas, EU Ambassador to Ukraine; Pavlo Sheremeta, Ukraine’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade in 2014; Oleg Starodubtsev, Head of the National Agency for Civil Service of Ukraine from 2019 to 2020; Dita Traida, Director of the State Agency for Education Development of Latvia; Inguna Sudraba, a Latvian economist and State Auditor of Latvia from 2004 to 2013; Janar Holm, Auditor General of Estonia; Marcin Swencicki, Mayor of Warsaw from 1994 to 1999; Maria Gintowt-Jankowicz, founder of the National School of Public Administration in Poland; Piotr Kulpa, Minister of Labour of Poland from 2005 to 2006; and several Ukrainian experts in the field of public administration, as well as Ukrainian and Baltic entrepreneurs.

The life of 40-year-old Olga was cloudless until her husband left her for a young mistress. Everything would have been fine, but the ex spent all the family savings on gambling, leaving the woman up to her eyeballs in debt. Life circumstances force Olga to return to the job she had long ago quit for the sake of her family. She tries to restart her career in publishing. She is rejected at several interviews because of her age. Everything changes when she meets a 26-year-old guy named Dima, who mistakes Olga for his peer. Then the heroine decides to rewrite her biography, “shaving off” 14 years, and start a new, young life…

The story is about a man who lost five family members as a result of Russian airstrikes on a residential building in the Kyiv region. Two years have passed, and the remains of Vadim's relatives have yet to be identified. So he doesn't have anyone to bury.

Vadym is a fisherman from the Kyiv region. In 2022, the city was occupied. The Russians shelled the houses, and Vadym's five family members were all buried beneath the rubble. Excavations began after the Ukrainians liberated the city.
Rescuers dismantle the house and recover the bodies. Vadym monitors the excavation every day. 29 bodies were found, but they could not be identified. In 
2024, Vadym has yet to find his relatives. The only thing that survived the fire and connected him to his previous life was the keys to the old garage.
