This documentary series, produced with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, explores the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war (2014), covering events from the burial of the Heavenly Hundred to the liberation. The films are based on real newsreels and interviews with people who were either participants in or witnesses to the events.
Series 1: «After Maidan. Crimea». It covers the chaos following the Revolution of Dignity, the blockade of Ukrainian military units in Crimea, and the start of the occupation.
Episode 2: “The Invasion: Donbas”. It focuses on the invasion of Russian troops into Donbas, the volunteer movement, and the liberation of Mariupol from Russian occupation.
The films feature footage from the H. S. Pshenychny Central State Film, Photo and Sound Archive of Ukraine, the ‘Babylon’13’ film collective and the ‘Yellow Bus’ film company.
