The Sixth Short Film Festival "Public Projector", held annually thanks to the financial and organizational support of Igor Yankovsky Charitable Foundation "Initiative for the Future", was successfully held in Nikolaev

In the days of the festival, there were virtually no seats available in the 800-seat hall of the Yunost Concert Hall. This year, thanks to the support of the city authorities, the opening of the festival was especially lush. Patron and businessman Igor Yankovsky and City Mayor Alexander Senkevich opened the festival. The presenters presented the film festival jury members: Honored Artist of Ukraine, laureate of national awards in the field of cinema and theatrical art, actress and public figure Irma Vitovsk, actor of theater and cinema, People's Artist of Ukraine and Yevgenzh of the Ukrainian Film Agency 2014-2019 by Pylyp Illenko.

The main partner and a friend of the festival, the founder of the Initiative for the Future charitable foundation, Igor Yankovsky, noted that the festival has become an important cultural event not only for Mykolayiv but also for Ukraine, and in the last two years it has become international. "For 6 years the Public Projector Film Festival in Mykolayiv has grown into a large-scale event that deserves a lot of attention. We have a large number of participants from all over the country, a world-class jury with real professionals of their own affairs and even an international program. I am glad that we are from On the first day we supported and financed this film festival, and we will continue in the future. It is very important that we have more partners and like-minded people in Nikolaev, thanks to which the film festival gets new opportunities for development ", - declared businessman and philanthropist Jankowski mountains.

The festival lasted for two days, during which 18 films were selected for participation in the competition program. This year the Nikolaev film festival received more than 120 films which came not only from different regions of Ukraine but also from abroad.

"For the first time, I am not a participant in the work of the Public Projector Film Festival, and it has become a good tradition to come to Mykolaiv in the fall. I want to mention that during these years the film festival has grown significantly, the quality of the films participating in the competition has become better, and this reflects the general tendency of Ukrainian cinema revival, "- said Philip Illyenko.

The special event of the film festival was the premiere of the documentary film 2019 "Malevich: Born in Ukraine", directed by Vladimir Lutsky, who debunks the myths of Soviet and Russian propaganda and brings back world genius to Ukraine. At closing, among others, traditionally presented the award of the Nikolaev mayor. "People's" mayor of Nikolaev Alexander Senkevich wished success to participants and noted improvement of the level of organization of the film festival.
