From February 5 to March 4, members of the Ukrainian Film Academy nominated shortlisted nominees. A new stage of voting began on March 19 - for the winners of this year's National Film Award. This phase will run until April 8. The winners of the Fourth Golden Dzyga National Film Award will be named on April 28 at the ceremony, which will be broadcast online this year in live TV.
There were 88 full-length and short films submitted for the Fourth Golden Dzyga Award. These include 17 feature films, 31 short films, 20 documentaries, 1 full-length animated film, and 19 short animated films. The long list includes 85 motion pictures: 16 feature films, 29 short films, 20 documentaries, 19 short animations, and one full-length animated film. The short list includes 28 films, 19 of which were made with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine (10 feature films, 5 documentaries, 4 short films).
This year, the Golden Dzyga Film Award will be presented in 23 nominations. Among them are 2 new ones. In particular, the Opening of the Year Award has now been launched within the framework of the Golden Dzyga National Film Award. Any person who has excelled in recent years or achievements can be the winner. The winners in this nomination are determined at a closed meeting of the Management Board and the Supervisory Board. In addition, the Fourth Film Award will also be awarded for "Best Visual Effects." The winner will be chosen from feature films.
The Best Animated Feature category is divided into Best Full-length Animated Feature and Best Short Animated Feature. The list of movie categories has been expanded for some nominations. Yes, from now on the Best Song nomination can feature both feature films, animation and documentaries, short films and documentaries, and the Best Cinematography and Best Sound nominations can also feature documentaries. The five nominations - Best Fitting, Best Makeup, Best Costume Design, Best Sound, and Best Visual Effects - will be determined by the members of the Supervisory Board and Expert Management Board. The Golden Dzyga Award Ceremony will be held with the support of Derzhkino.
This year's leaders in the number of nominations are Home (11), My Thoughts Quiet (9), Ksenia Hutsulka (9), Volcano (8) and Zakhar Berkut (7)
On March 24, the voting for the films in the nomination "Audience Award" of the Golden Dzyga Award was started. The viewers can make their choice and vote for the best movie. Voting will be on the site segodnya.ua until April 12. The movie that gets the most votes during the voting period will win.
