Віра і Олег – подружня пара. Сім'я Лапіних разом вже сімнадцять років. Вони виховують прекрасних дітей: дочку-підлітка і маленького сина. Може скластися враження, що раз чоловік і жінка так довго в шлюбі, то ніяких скелетів у шафі в них немає. Але насправді Олег і Віра відчувають один до одного недовіру, у відносинах все частіше прослизає холод. Якось раз на пікніку з друзями трапляється неприємний інцидент, який викликає бурю пристрастей. Всі похмурі таємниці героїв потроху починають відкриватися.

Низка несподіваних подій ще більше спричинить приховані конфлікти подружжя, які роками не могли вирватися назовні. Усі недомовки і взаємні претензії почнуть вихлюпуватися. Пара буде аналізувати власні відносини і спробує згадати, з яких причин вони колись давно вирішили бути разом, і чому віддали перевагу одне одному як другі половинки. У Віри й Олега непрості та суперечливі характери. Ці люди робили за своє життя досить багато поганих вчинків. Але на це, як пізніше з'ясовується, у них були зрозумілі причини. Героям буде неймовірно важко розібратися в своїх відносинах і в почуттях. Вони намагаються бути максимально відвертими одне з одним.

Nelia is an owner of Omelko’s House, a country house museum of folk domestic life in the village of Kozubivka, Poltava region. Nelia and her husband Oleksandr are helping relocated people who have fled from bombing and shelling attacks in Kharkiv to adapt in the village. They are becoming friends with one another.

Due to the war, Nelia is very anxious about famine. To help the displaced people from Kharkiv have enough food, she gives them a big garden patch and planting seeds, where they plant potatoes and vegetables.

Over time, it becomes evident that the people who moved here from the city are not ready for hard physical work on the land plot because they hope that the war will end soon. Without proper care, the planted harvest starts degrading.

Will they be able to find a compromise, save the vegetable garden and their relationships?

Future border guards come from different parts of Ukraine and for different reasons to join the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Some are continuing a family tradition, some are doing it for the company of a school friend, and some have made this decision after completing their military service. The cadets' mentor, Ivan Krynytskyi, uses his own methodology to turn yesterday's “yard boys” into real combat officers.
