Vasyl Krychevskyi (1873-1952) is a forgotten name and, apart from art historians, few people remember that he is the author of the national emblem of Ukraine, the Trident, and the monument to Mykhailo Hrushevskyi; one of the founders and professor of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts; initiator of the Taras Shevchenko House Museum in Kyiv.He was the founder of the Ukrainian Art Nouveau style in national architecture; a film artist who worked with O. Dovzhenko; a stage designer, art historian, architect, graphic artist, and ethnographer.
Vasyl Krychevskyi made a tremendous contribution to Ukrainian culture, but, as happened many times, the Soviet authorities tried to erase his name from history.

Using the example of the tragedy that took place on 14 January 2023 in Dnipro, when a Russian X-22 missile hit a residential building, killing 46 people, the documentary project shows how Ukraine is already working to punish war criminals.
The film features unique eyewitness testimonies, including that of Kateryna Zelenska, who survived the moment the missile hit her house, staying under the rubble for 20 hours. Stories of families who lost loved ones, including the Vitaliev sisters, whose family was killed by a missile strike.
In addition, the film reveals the behind-the-scenes workings of international justice: how does The Hague prepare trials? Who collects and analyses evidence of war crimes? How do Ukrainian human rights activists cooperate with international institutions to bring the perpetrators to justice?
The film also delves into the lessons of history, exploring why the Nuremberg trials did not punish Soviet criminals and how unpunished evil returned in the form of new aggression; whether the world will be able to break the cycle of impunity this time; and whether international pressure and legal mechanisms will be enough to bring the main aggressor of the 21st century to justice.
