30-year-old Irina is a flight attendant on intercity bus routes. Anton's ex-husband left her immediately after the birth of his son Grisha, finding a more profitable option in the person of the naive Alina. The girl keeps Anton, taking money from her mother Lisa.

Lisa is the daughter of furniture mogul Viktor Romanenko, who is looking for a male heir to hand over his business to him after his death. Romanenko hardly communicates with his daughter and granddaughter, but remembering that Alina was pregnant four years ago and was expecting a boy, she decides to make him the heir to the empire. The man should not find out that Alina had a miscarriage then. Lisa conspires with Anton – now they intend to deprive Irina of parental rights and take away her son, giving Grisha as Romanenko's heir.

When the course of the investigation comes to a standstill or the evidence gathered points to an innocent person, a criminologist takes up the case. He puts forward his version of the crime and is often the last hope for justice and the salvation of human life.

The investigation in the series is conducted by a group from a private agency - a professional criminologist, operative and former thief- "burglar". The ideological inspirer of this team is criminologist Anna, a professional who joins the investigation when no one else can unravel it. The one who restores the chronology of events, makes a psychological portrait of the suspects, pays attention to the smallest details of the crime.

At the request of the authorities, Anna leads the investigation, involving her assistants - ex-operative Mikhail Petrovich and former thief-recidivist Lord. They feel mutual antipathy to each other and this is not surprising. Petrovich is a former police captain who, over the years, has managed to maintain a sense of justice and confidence that "a thief should be in prison." And Lord is a former "burglar" whom Anna once saved from the "tower". Now, as a token of gratitude, the Lord is helping Anne with investigations, using his connections in the criminal world and obtaining evidence that is not entirely legal.
