A film from the documentary series, And Then Came the Brothers.

The film tells the stories of people whose homes were destroyed by the Russian occupiers.

The film's authors travelled to the places in the Kyiv region where the Russian army was stationed in the spring of 2022 — Borodianka, Bucha, Irpin, Makariv, Andriivka, Babyntsi, Pylypovychi, Dmytrivka, Fasova — and collected stories of people and their losses caused by the war.

12. Land of Heroes is a documentary film about twelve soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who were awarded the highest state award, the Golden Star. This is the first film in a large series about real heroes of Ukraine. 

The film was produced by Kalina Film with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Each of the twelve stories has the potential to become a separate feature film.

The film's messages: for young people – the hero is close by, and he is real; for Ukrainians abroad – this is the voice of Ukraine; for the world – freedom has a name – Ukrainian soldier.

After shopping at the supermarket, mom and daughter go out and mother remembers forgetting to buy buckwheat. As her daughter waits for her mom to shop, she hears a voice reminding her that her father is at war and that he loves buckwheat. A girl who does not like buckwheat tells her mother that she wants to try it again.

There were Keith and Rooster. One day, Keith gathered in the woods for firewood, and left the Rooster to clean the house and cook. As soon as Keith is gone, the Fox is here as it is here. She dragged Rooster out of the house, grabbed and fled into the woods. Good that Keith heard shouts about the Rooster's help. Rescued a friend and brought home. The next day, Keith again went into the woods and left Rooster, ordering no one to open the door. But again the cunning fox lured the Cereal with golden wheat grains, and seized it - and into the forest. She brought home a Rooster where she was waiting for the foxes. And again, Cott had to save Rooster.
