Inspired by the creative methods of James Joyce and James Benning, the author of this documentary tried to reflect his life and cultural experience in a form that is the most characteristic of the present time – an absurdity.

The title of the film is derived from ancient Greek words: "amphibolos" (αμφίβολος), meaning ambiguous and/or deceptive, and "lithos" (λιτος), meaning stone.

About the wonderful life of the artist Vladimir Melnichenko and about his endless love story with Ada Rybachuk. About their lifelong collaboration. That love is not face to face. Love is to look one way.

Ada passed away in 2010. But Vladimir still hears her voice and footsteps. He works in their workshop, arranging the archive, which will suffice for the whole museum. He creates new masterpieces. And he signs each new work with two names.
