Ukrainian New Wave is a project of presenting the best short films by Ukrainian debutants this year. Launched by the National Center of Alexander Dovzhenko in 2012, it annually presents the best short films by young Ukrainian directors who have been screened and received at national and international film festivals.

Dina is a girl who lives in her own peculiar world, in which there is a Bird Man – an invisible friend with whom she shares her experiences, and he responds to playing the accordion. But Dina is in love with a very real neighbor, which is his birthday today. Dean seems determined to act decisively.

The film is included in the short film short film Ukrainian New Wave: Runaway.

Mom feeds her son from the window of the high-rise building of the Oriental neighborhood and grows quince at a dacha near Sartana. Talking about her simple life, the woman shoots videos for a daughter who lives in Kiev and who is often not called. In order to keep the conversation going, she feeds her adult child with fairy tales and rabbits.

The film is part of the short film Ukrainian New Wave: Runaway and MyStreetFilms-Edge.

A dramatic story of a woman returning from war. Talking to psychologists, struggling with PTSD and panic attacks, she tries to get back to normal. This documentary shows her journey from the beginning of rehab to her return to work.

The film is a continuation of the story of Oksana Yakubov, the heroine of the documentary Invisible Battalion.
