Pavlo, a young and promising military psychologist, falls in love with Ksenia, a restaurant singer. The young couple gets married. Soon, Pavlo is sent to Afghanistan. At this time, Pavlo's younger brother Petro, a spoiled alcoholic and drug addict, returns from Syria. Pavlo's assignment is delayed for many months, and upon his return, he learns that his wife Ksenia has packed her things and left.
