Adaptation of the memoirs of Vsevolod Nikolaevich "Memories from the Times of the Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1921)" about the revolutionary events in Ukraine of 1917-1918 and their participation in the regiment named after Kosh Gordianenko.

The first part of the film describes the events from the beginning of 1917 until the arrival of the Kostya Gordienko regiment formed as part of the 7th Turkestan Division of the 3rd Siberian Army Corps of the Russian Army in Ukraine. The second part is from the events of January-February 1918 in Kiev, when the regiment entered into an unequal battle with the Moscow-Bolshevik troops of Muravyov and until the return of the Central Rada to the Bolsheviks liberated from Kiev.

Serf Kateryna Verbitskaya is the property of the richest Nizhyn landowner Chervinsky. However, the girl does not look like a peasant. In her impeccable manner, she learned several foreign languages, played the piano and even painted pictures! All because she was raised by her godmother. It is involuntarily on the border of two worlds: nobles and intellectuals on the one hand, and imprisoned, transformed into tangible property of 19th-century Ukrainians on the other.

The poor girl is in love with the nobleman Alexei Kosach, but she has no right to feel this feeling. Chervinsky is extremely dissatisfied and forbids her to even think about a handsome man. And the landlady wants to get Katya out of this world! For the sake of love and freedom, the serf will have to survive the death of loved ones, not lose themselves in the panic of popular uprising, fight for the right to wake up in the morning, running away from a dangerous maniac, and for your honor, wandering in the web of Kiev brothels.

Oleksiy Frolov, a leading specialist at a private dental clinic, is a complete bachelor, and no woman in his life lingers long. One day, on his way home from work, he accidentally knocks down a well-known TV presenter and viewer's favorite Anna Mikheyeva.

The woman is in the hospital in a coma and it is unknown whether she will survive. And although Frolov is not guilty, his whole life turns into a nightmare - journalists shoot incriminating reports, work colleagues condemn.

Anna Dimka's son is brought to one of the programs dedicated to the tragedy. The boy was forced to be placed in an orphanage, because there was no one who could take him into the family while his mother was in the hospital. Frolov promises to help Dmitry and keeps his word - the next day he opens an account in his name, and after a while makes a difficult decision - to become the boy's guardian. The appearance of Dimka in his bachelor's lair destroys Frolov's usual way of life, but from the point of view his deed looks noble. But how do you build a sincere relationship if your child blames you for what happened to your mother? And how then, having become his friend and support, to give the boy to his father, who does not need him at all?
