Shortly before her wedding, Sasha learns that she is pregnant. She is ready to share her happiness with her lover, but instead of a wedding dress and veil she has to buy a train ticket to disappear from her hometown forever. Due to an old criminal debt, Sasha is betrayed by his fiancé. He marries the investigator's daughter to avoid going to prison. But the path to a new life for Sasha turns into a new test.

On the train, the girl meets the adventurer Valeria. A new acquaintance provoked a serious accident on the railway and fled the scene, taking a large sum of money from a nearby compartment. Sasha regains consciousness in the hospital and learns that she is being blamed for what happened and is mistaken for Lera. Later, the girl is forced to live under someone else's name and is constantly waiting to be exposed, because on the one hand she is wanted by the police, on the other – by bandits.

The main characters of the story are the couple Vera and Viktor Novikov. It would seem that they have a wonderful loving family, but on the eve of the 10th wedding anniversary a number of tragedies, mysteries of the past and blackmail divide the lives of the heroes into before and after.

The director of this film only grabbed a camera and a few batteries before his hometown, Kyiv, got hit by a missile barrage. In 20 minutes, he received a call from Andriy Tsaplienko, a famous war journalist. Andriy needed a cameraman to help him film the news. With just two batteries and a handycam, a TV story about the shelling was created. Later it became the first episode of the movie titled 'The light Slipping Through'. The director, acting as the cameraman, had a unique chance to capture every aspect of the war journalist's life.

Using a big network of informants, the protagonist helps intelligence locate where the Russian forces . One of his informants, a close friend, disappears after sending important data about enemy air defense systems. Despite the injuries, the protagonist finds the strength to look for his missing friend. The film follows Andriy’s journey through towns and cities, searching for his lost friend and seeking for inner light. Despite the pain, the protagonist finds everything he was looking for.
