The film is based on real events that formed the basis of one of the most high-profile operations of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

It is the story of a family man, a special service officer whose personal life was destroyed by the war... His friends help him to get back into the ranks. A commander and a junior colleague develop one of the most successful operations in the history of the special services... And take revenge on the enemy.

Zheka, from a provincial town, lives all alone and sees no prospects for his future. He buried his ambitious dreams of making it big a long time ago and now only raps at local weddings from time to time. 

His life changes in an instant when he learns of the existence of his eight-year-old daughter in the capital. Zheka sets off for Kyiv to prove to her that he is worthy of being a father, but accidentally stumbles upon the auditions for a major music show.  

The glossy and cynical world of television becomes his only chance to be heard by his own daughter, to make amends for past mistakes and to find true love.

The film traces the life of Andrii Kuzmenko (1968–2015) from his youth to his rise as one of Ukraine’s most famous musicians and media personalities; it explores his inner transformations, his self-deprecating humour, and his life lived at full throttle, which still captivates us today.

The film explores Kuzma Skryabin as a figure of cultural memory who, even decades after his passing, remains a living and influential presence.
