Before the era of high-rating global shows, Ukrainian television had no money for international formats. To keep the audience engaged, TV creators had to come up with programs almost daily on a shoestring budget. As a result, iconic TV shows emerged and gifted Ukraine with stars who became symbols of the era.

Ihor Pelykh sent strangers on romantic journeys, Kuzma Skryabin urged participants to spend money quickly, and Ihor Kondratiuk created stars in a single day. This is the story of the diverse and genuine Ukrainian television of the 2000s, the legacy it left behind, and why everything changed.

Maintaining the work of schools in Ukraine is an attempt to reclaim at least a part of everyday life that existed before the full-scale invasion (before 24 February 2022 and in some regions, even earlier, in 2014).

Without interviews, voiceovers or reconstructions, Timestamp allows the audience to glimpse how the war affects the daily life of students and teachers. The film has a patchwork structure: it explores the functioning of schools in offline and online formats in these terrible times, both at the frontline and beyond. It demonstrates how everyday life is intertwined with constant danger.

In 1906, the Miles Brothers created the film A Trip Down Market Street, which documented Market Street in San Francisco before a major earthquake struck. After the catastrophe, the authors documented the street once again. Subsequently, the new film was titled A Trip Down Market Street After the Fire, serving as a tragic reflection of the city following a natural disaster and accompanying fires.

In 1974, the structuralist filmmaker Ernie Gehr reprinted the Miles brothers' film in a slow version and called it Eureka. Referring to the chronicle canvas of the Miles brothers and the avant-garde imprint of Ernie Gehr, the virtual camera films the Market Street of the fictional San Fierro in the classic video game GTA: San Andreas (2004) and creates an alternative version of life in which the earthquake could never happen, because the in-game terrestrial bark is a monolithic simulation that cannot be affected by external and internal damage. However, not all in-game space is undamageable, and everything that is "alive" impresses with its fragility. The authors integrate a missile attack on the infrastructure and civilians of Market Street, changing the peaceful way of life to a state of war, rhyming the in-game space with the chronicle A Trip Down Market Street After the Fire.

At the heart of the scenario is the real event that occurred in Ukraine during the mobilization.

The military enlistment office immediately takes a businessman Taras, who has to go with his wife and son on a vacation to the islands. At first, he decides to "repel", but in the military enlistment office, to his surprise, meets the same successful people as he, who came voluntarily. Taras gets into a big moral conflict with himself ...

The main character is a former policeman Paramonov from the small resort town of Azov, located in the Krasnodar Territory. Honest and incorruptible, who sincerely sought to fight crime without compromising his conscience, he was a white crow against the background of his colleagues, the vast majority of whom consisted of alcoholics, careerists and bribe-takers.

For a long time, Paramonov tried to resist lawlessness, which flourished among those who had the law to protect their duties. In the end, when Paramonov refused a persistent offer from his superiors to take part in another fraud, he was forced to resign. Eight years have passed since then. Paramonov, determined to start a new, quiet life, changed many jobs and as a result became the director of the local beach. But he finally failed to put a cross on his former profession…

His parents dreamed of him to be a scientist, intellectual or artist. But he kicked around the leather ball and upset them with inappropriate, in their view, hobby.

Oleh Bazylevych, the favorite forward of Kyiv Dynamo fans, could have remained just a player in the history of Ukrainian football. But he decided to become a coach. And it was the beginning of the new page for him.

Oleh Bazylevych had always compared the coaching job to the film directing. He called his training theory The System.

He achieved great success and international recognition together with his friend and colleague Valeriy Lobanovsky. Dynamo was becoming the best team in the world under the guidance of Kyiv coaches, without the help of outsourcing Brazilian players. Both of them were considered to be the best football coaches on the Earth!

But suddenly he lost his friends and job. After a while Bazylevych became the coach of Tashkent Pakhtakor. Thanks to the instructions of the beginner coach with a scientific approach, the team had outdone itself. But the whole team died in the plane crash soon. Oleh Bazylevych took the other flight and became the only survivor.

The story of Bazylevych’s life reminds the action novel with its dangerous rises, terrific falls, extraordinary voyages, and mystery adventures.
