The talented young artist Viktoria has friends, a successful career and love. Suddenly, she loses everything: her lover runs away, leaving Viktoria with debts to creditors. To pay off her debts, Vika sells her flat, her car, and all her artwork, and moves into her studio. Her friends arrange a commission for a portrait of an influential industrial magnate. The portrait becomes a prelude to the wedding. However, the man dies on their wedding night...

The will comes as a shock to everyone – all the estate is bequeathed to his young wife. An exhumation of the body, requested by the deceased’s eldest son, reveals signs of poisoning. Suspicion falls primarily on Victoria, and the court proceedings do not go in her favour. But an unexpected witness appears, whose testimony exonerates her. Vika’s trials are not over yet – intrigues, envy, and threats continue to haunt her. A young, handsome police captain helps Victoria make sense of what is happening.

Anna is a single middle-aged mother. She lives in a small industrial city in the war-torn east of Ukraine. Anna works at a meat processing plant, lives in an old abandoned apartment and dreams of a better life for herself and her 16-year-old daughter.

The main character is desperate for change. On the radio she happens to advertise a party that is arranged for foreigners traveling in search of love. Anna has not been dating people for many years, but decides to take the opportunity.

At the party, Anna is confronted with the harsh reality of age discrimination and the true intentions of American men. And yet she unexpectedly meets her underage daughter – and she came to the party too. Mother and daughter are embarrassed, aware of the humiliation of the situation and decide to say goodbye to their dreams for a better life.
