A film about the outstanding composer, professor, People's Artist of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine Yevhen Stankovych.
There is no biographical information about the composer in the film, instead his works are heard. Two of them, dedicated to the terrible events of national history, "Funeral service for the starving" and "Requiem-Kaddish" Babyn Yar "are taken as the plot basis. Both musical works in the film are combined with poems by Dmytro Pavlychko specially written for this music, and the screen is replaced by terrible archival footage from the Holodomor and the murder in Babyn Yar.
