The main character is 57-year-old Volodymyr Karakulin, who was homeless for a long time and lived on the streets of Kyiv. Vova has now been living with his family in the town of Tokmak in the Zaporizhzhia region for two years. But for the film, he returns to the places where he first realised he was homeless, where he slept under the open sky and scoured the streets for food. Vova met up again with the friends he had made whilst spending the winter on heating pipes and saw the sea for the first time in many years.
