Three people turn to a psychiatrist. Young director Garin can think of nothing but how to make a movie in his script, which no producer wants to take. A young woman is completely lonely because she lives with an unloved husband, does not like her job and has no friends. And the lady of the Balzac age cannot sleep until she looks in the book for reproductions by eminent artists. The psychiatrist gave them advice that made all three successful and, most importantly, happy people. But then the doctor himself wondered: is he happy? Is he dealing with the business he dreamed of? And when a few years later he is met at a cheap eatery by director Garin, who has become a celebrity, the ex-psychiatrist, sipping his beer, confesses to the patient that he has wanted to become an actor all his life. Garin sees no obstacles in helping an old acquaintance.
