Since then, family stories have been covered in forced silence. I am the first in my family to speak out loud about this trauma. Old buildings are the only link with previous generations. But architectural heritage is now a battleground. There is a fight between several citizens who preserve unique buildings and oligarchs who restore it to skyscrapers. Changes are inevitable.
