In the film, the director returns to the frontline mining town of Novohrodivka, where she spent her childhood, to shoot her first film. However, instead of the planned social drama about miners, the result is a tragicomedy about a mining family, whose members, despite their differing political views, make endless compromises every day to keep the peace within the family.
