The Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine on State Support of Cinematography” No. 76-IX was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on September 12, 2019.
The document is aimed at ensuring the implementation of the mechanisms laid down in the Law “On State Support of Cinematography in Ukraine” and settlement of the issue of financial support by the state for the implementation of projects in the field of cinematography.
It is established, in particular, that certain payments from subjects of cinematography, connected with receiving state support by them, will be credited to the special fund of the state budget and will be directed to state support of cinematography.
Implementation of the Law will contribute to the development of the film industry in Ukraine, as well as to attract investments in this field.
Adoption of amendments to the Budget Code on state support of cinematography was a prerequisite for the Law “On State Support of Cinematography” adopted in 2017.
