Biography

Anastasiya Yevchenko is a Ukrainian director, screenwriter, actor, and producer in theatre and film. Her goal is to create meaningful, innovative, and impactful art that will challenge and inspire its viewers.

Anastasiya’s first professional work is the surrealistic short film “If We Had Tomorrow” (2019) – where a soldier is thinking about his family, by opening door after door in his corridor of opportunities but everything we know about him changes with an explosion.

Anastasiya is a student at New York University (2016-present), where she is majoring in Drama BFA, minoring in producing and filmmaking. Throughout her time in NYU, Anastasiya had acted in student productions “Black Masseur” (2016), “Angels in America” (2016), “Absolute Airplane” (2017), and “Reefer Madness Musical” (2017). She had directed the extracts from “Earthquakes in London” (2017), “Perfume: the story of a murderer” (2017), “Macbeth” (2017), “Forest Song” (2018). She had written plays and screenplays during her academic career at NYU.

Anastasiya studied acting as part of the Intensive Summer Acting Program at Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York (2018). She participated in the Acting Intensive Program at the University of South California (2015) and learned different acting techniques, including scene study, movement, voice, on-camera performance; participated in two public workshop performances: “A Midsummer's Night’s Dream” and “Spring’s Awakening”.

Anastasiya participated in ISTA IB Theatre Symposium (2015), where she collaborated with IB Theatre students from around the world; developed theatre skills from directing to performing; explored world theatre practices; participated in workshops by Frantic Assembly's and director William Kerley.

Anastasiya participated as a singer in a unique summer program The Nord Anglia Education “Global Orchestra” (2015) that brought together 80 young musicians and singers from around the world to attend the Juilliard workshops on dance, drama, and music, and after a week of intense training to perform in professional concert venue of The DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York.

Anastasiya had graduated Beau Soleil Alpin College International with a Bilingual Diploma of the International Baccalaureate. During her time in Beau Soleil, Anastasiya directed, designed, produced, and acted in a musical “Old Songs New” (2015). Anastasiya was also an actor and co-director in IB Drama productions of “Women in War” (2014), “Five stages of Love” (2015), and “The Days of this society is numbered” (2015). Anastasiya had devised a one-person piece based on Jerzy Grotowski techniques called “Captivity” (2016) – it was her Solo Theatre Piece as part of the IB Drama curriculum.

Anastasiya is a Laureate of the National program Person of The Year 2006 in the nomination “Young Talent of The Year”. Anastasiya holds the title of Little Princess of The World 2006.

Anastasiya had studied in Oleksandriyska Gymnasium and had received a Certificate with Honors for Basic General Secondary Education.
