Hanna Jalali is an independent filmmaker based in Ukraine. Studied at the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (BA in Journalism). In 2015 she was graduated from Kyiv National I.K. Karpenko-Kary Theater, Cinema and Television University (MA in Documentary Directing; MA in Film Production). Her first short film "After" was officially selected in several international film festivals among which: 28th Trieste film festival; 29th European First Film Festival Premiers Plans D'Angers; 13th Eurasia International film festival; 42nd Odense International Film Festival; 47th IFF Molodist; 31st Leeds International Film Festival, etc. She’s film won the Award of The Union of Cinematographers of Armenia at the 13th KIN International Women Film Festival. She also is the winner of the 29th European First Film Festival Premiers Plans D'Angers in a short European competition and of the 7th International short film festival of CIS, Baltic states and Georgia in the International competition. In 2018 she was invited to participate in the 3rd Film school Alliance in Georgia, where she took a diploma from the masters and 3rd place audience award. She is a participant at the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab (KFL) (Masters session) in 2020 edition. Berlinale Talents  2021 alumna.
