Olena Semak was born in Dnipro, Ukraine. She studied journalism at Oles Honchar National University of Dnipro. She was working as a journalist and market analyst of economic and industry media. 2017 she founded own production, Metropolis Film Company. In 2023, she released her debut documentary film Demiurge. The premiere of the film took place at the 35th Galway Film Fleadh in Galway (Ireland). The national premiere took place at the 14th Odessa International Film Festival in the national competition.
