Biography

Native Ukrainian. She received Master degree from Kyiv's Karpenko‐Kary National Film University as her second higher degree. As a film student at Kiev's National University of Theatre, Film, and TV she directed a number of documentary films for TV and shorts for international festivals. For her graduating film, she made a feature-length adaptation of the bestseller novel by Swedish classic Torgny Lindgren. The resulting her debut drama Brothers. "The final confession" (2013) was selected first time since the independence of Ukraine to 3 "class A" festivals (Goa, Shanghai, Moscow) and got several international awards***. It was theatrically released in 28 cities in Ukraine, screened in many countries, and sold to Swedish TV channel SVT and to China's domestic Airlines.    After spending over three months travelling through India,  she wrote script of the next feature film DOWNSHIFTING, based on the novel Satan's Diary by Leonid Andreyev.  Now this projects seeking financing.   In 2016 Victoria became the first Ukrainian participant selected to the program "Ekran+" from Wajda School & Studio (Warsaw). with her next full length project "Downshifting". And in 2017 - she became the first Ukrainian selected for the scriptwriting program "eQuinoxe Europe" (Germany), where she develops the script of her next feature film "Yakiv" (production studio "Pronto film"), under the guidance of award-winning international mentors. 

Victoria's has over 10 years of experience in filmmaking and TV. Now she is running the company Alba Film Intertainment ltd. with educational and co-production projects.  Since September 2018 she's becoming teacher of filmmaking in Kyiv's National University of Theatre, Film and TV, in the name of Karpenko-Kary.
