Valentin Vasyanovich's "Atlantis" won the festival in Norway

The Ukrainian film about the Donbass Atlantis by director Valentin Vasyanovich has won the grand prize of the Tromso (Norway) film festival.

This was reported by the director on his Facebook page.

The Tromso International Film Festival was held this year from January 13 to January 19.

The movie Atlantis is set in 2025, a year after the probable end of the war in eastern Ukraine. From the context, it can be understood that Ukraine has won, but to restore life in the Donbas to the pre-war is very difficult: the fighting caused enormous damage to nature - flooded mines and destroyed factories poisoned the land and water.

Atlantis drama project was one of the winners of the Derzhkino Ninth Competition and received state funding of 20 million 835 thousand UAH. at the total cost of film production 41 million 835 thousand UAH. The production of the tape was made by Studio Cannon Film.

The tape won the official competition program Horizons at the 76th Venice International Film Festival and received a special jury prize at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Atlantis won the Grand Prix at the Listapad Film Festival in Minsk, as well as a prize for cinematography in Seville, Spain. He holds the European Film Festival Grand Prix in France.

It is planned that the movie will be released in November 2020 in Ukraine.
