Ukrainian documentary enters the competition section of the Sundance Film Festival

Irina Cilik's documentary "The Land is Blue, Like Orange" was selected to the "World Documentary" competition section of the largest Sundance Independent Film Festival. It will be the world premiere of the documentary's feature-length debut.

"Earth is like blue orange" (business name - "Yellow Bus") was one of the winners of the 10th Derzhkino Competition and tells of a family living in the "red zone" of Donbass, where hostilities have been going on for six years.

The script is written and directed by Irina Tsilik, the film is her full-length debut. Camera operator - Vyacheslav Tsvetkov, editing - Ivan Bannikov, Irina Tsilik, sound engineer - Jonas Maxvitis. The film was created by the Ukrainian production company Albatros Komunikos (produced by Anna Kapustina) and the Lithuanian production company Munmakers (produced by Gedre Jitkite) with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine, Lithuanian Film Center and IDFA Bertha Media Center. Shooting of the film lasted for 2017-2019 in Krasnogorivka, Avdiivka, Kurakhovo, Donetsk region, as well as in Kiev.

In total, the festival plans to screen 118 films from 37 countries, including 44 debuts. All in all, the organizers received a record number of applications - 15,100 (full-length and short films). The short meter program will be announced additionally, closer to the festival dates. Festival dates are January 23 - February 2, 2020, in Park City, Utah, USA.
