The short film Anna won the British Independent Cinema Award

December 1 in London, the joint work of Britain, Ukraine and Israel, directed by Dekel Berenson - "Anna" - received the prestigious award of the British Independent Film Awards in the nomination "Best British Short Film".

The tape tells the story of a single mother, played by Ukrainian actress Svetlana Barandich. Anna works at a meat processing plant, lives in an old abandoned apartment and dreams of a better life for herself and her 16-year-old daughter. On the radio she happens to advertise a party that is arranged for foreigners traveling in search of love. But at the party, the heroine faces a harsh reality: discrimination against age and the true intentions of foreign "grooms."

The world premiere of the film took place at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival and Ukrainian at the national competition program of the 48th Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist.

ESSE Production House and the producers - Vitaliy Sheremetyev, Olga Beshmelnitsyna, Natalia Libet and Alexey Zgonik were engaged in production on the Ukrainian side.
