The Atlantis film by Ukrainian director Valentin Vasyanovich received a special jury prize at the Tokyo International Film Festival (Japan).
This is not the first award for Atlantis - in September, the tape won the Horizons program at the Venice Film Festival.
The Tokyo Film Festival is held annually in the Japanese capital. This year, it was held from October 28 to November 5. It featured 180 films from around the world.
Atlantis action is taking place in the near future, in which the war in the East of Ukraine is over. Territory of Donbass after the hostilities is more unsuitable for life. At the heart of the story is the history of the military and civilians living in the area after the war.
Valentin has worked on the tape as a screenwriter, director, cameraman and co-producer.
The Ukrainian premiere of Atlantis is planned to be held at the Odessa Film Festival in 2020, and a wide cast in Ukraine will take place no earlier than next fall. Producer of the film Volodymyr Yatsenko told the Telecritic in his interview.
