The Ukrainian film by Crimean Tatar director Nariman Aliyev "Home" was included in the Golden Globe longlist in the "Foreign Language Film" category. This is stated on the movie awards website.
In total, 93 entries from 65 countries are in the list. Nominees are due to be announced on December 9th. The awards ceremony will take place on January 6, 2020 in Los Angeles.
The movie "Home" tells about the life of Crimean Tatar Mustafa, who lost his eldest son in the Donbas war. He decides to bury the baby in the Crimea. Together with his younger son, his father embarks on a journey that will change their relationship and attitude to the world. The main roles were played by Ramsey Bilyalov and Akhtem Seitablaev.
The world premiere of the film took place on May 22 at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival. "Home" won the Grand Prix of the Odessa and Bucharest Film Festivals, as well as the "Kinokol" Critics' Award. In Ukraine, the tape will be rolled out on November 7.
In early October, the movie "Home" hit the long list of the American Academy Award. The film was included in the category "International Feature Film."
