On October 27, 2019, the NSKU Film Critics Association's diplomas were presented with the best Ukrainian films of 2018, according to a survey of the Bureau of Ukrainian Film Journalism "Results of the Ukrainian Film Process and Film Production - 2018".
The diplomas were presented at the opening ceremony of the 46th season of the Cinema House of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.
In the nominations "Best Ukrainian Movie of 2018" and "Best Ukrainian Feature Film of 2018" the drama of Sergei Loznitsa "Donbass" was mentioned.
"Best Ukrainian non-feature film of 2018" according to the poll was "Myth" of Leonid Kanter and Ivan Yasni.
"Best Ukrainian Animated Movie 2018" - Oleg Malamuzha's "Stolen Princess: Ruslan and Lyudmila".
The nominee "Best Ukrainian Short Film of 2018" was named "Weightlifter" by Dmitry Sukholitsky-Sobchuk.
NSCU Film Critics Association diplomas were presented by NSCU Film Critics Association President Serhiy Trimbach, Coordinator of the Ukrainian Film Journalism Bureau Serhiy Vasilyev and Oleksandr Shpilyuk.
The survey of the Bureau of Ukrainian Film Journalism "Results of the Ukrainian Film Process and Cinema - 2018" continued from March 12 to April 5, 2019.
The nominations covered Ukrainian films that premiered between January 1 and December 31, 2018, as well as films that went live in Ukrainian cinema during this period.
35 film critics and film journalists took part in the survey.
The Ukrainian Film Journalism Bureau recalls that the NSCU Film Critics Association diplomas of the best Ukrainian films of 2017 were awarded on October 19, 2018 at the opening ceremony of the 45th season of the Cinema House, and the NSCU Film Critics Association 2016 awards were awarded to the 31 Ukrainian films of the year for the most successful Ukrainian films of the year. the closing of the 43rd season of the Cinema House.
The NSKU Prize was launched in 2014 "with the aim of reviving and developing Ukrainian cinema, enhancing the creative skill of artists, supporting young filmmakers, promoting the best achievements of Ukrainian cinema." The Prize's mission is to identify the best films and to celebrate filmmakers for their creative achievements in the past year. The initiator of the award was director, secretary of the NSKU Roman Shirman.
