On September 5, a cinematic feature film “Forbidden”, produced by the support of Derzhkino, filmed in the history of the life of the poet and human rights activist Vasyl Stus, was released. On the day of his memory, on September 4, the press cinemas took place in the capital's Oscar cinema.
The press conference was attended by film director Roman Brovko, producer Artem Denisov, script writers Artemy Kirsanov and Sergey Dziuba, actors Dmitry Yaroshenko, Karina Shereverova, Miroslava Filippovich, performer of the soundtrack Sergiy Tanchinets (BEZ band). The views were shared by the Sixties - people who knew Vasyl Stus personally: a public figure, human rights activist Vasily Ovsiyenko, who served his sentence in a special regime camp with Vasyl Stus; the journalist, sixtieth Margarita Dovgan. The film saw the granddaughter of Alla Gorskaya artist Elena Zaretsk, as well as community activists, political prisoners. Ukrainian politicians, artists, musicians, TV presenters came to the premiere with a creative group.
Margarita Dovgan shared her memories of years of friendship with Vasyl Stus and expressed her hope that the film will be seen not only in Ukraine but in the world: “I am still there - in the memories of those times that have not passed me. Many thanks to the actor Dmitry Yaroshenko, because to play such an ingenious poet as Vasyl Stus, one must also be a decent person with a high artistic spirit. And Dmitry succeeded - he was able to convey the image of Basil with heart and soul. "
Vasily Stus, a fellow inmate of the dissident movement, Vasily Ovsiyenko, recalled his meeting with a poet in prison: “It was my third prison, and I received an honorary title - a particularly dangerous recidivist. And Vasyl Stus was the same "recidivist".
The director of the film, Roman Brovko, noted that the film, although based on historical facts, is artistic, so it certainly has artistic interpretations of these or other events: “The screenwriters did a great job at the stage of making the film. For six months, we have been gathering information, communicating with dissidents - this is the basis of history. It was an important task for us to actualize the figure of the poet, to attract the attention of the younger generation. "
The actors who have starred in the film have told of an extraordinary acting experience and a huge responsibility, as the people they played on screen recently lived.
“Alla Gorska's role was not easy for me, but I tried to convey it as truthfully as possible. When she found out that I was approved, she began to read her biography. This role is a great honor for me, and I very much hope that I managed it, ”said actress Karina Shereverova.
When asked how he managed to translate himself into the image of Vasyl Stus, Dmitry Yaroshenko answered succinctly: “To be honest, I just lived. He watched various videos about Stus, listened to his voice, read his correspondence, poems and memoirs. "
According to musician Sergiy Tanchinets, he was pleasantly surprised to learn that their band had been invited to perform the song "Kolyskova". “I believe that embroidery is a modern spiritual bulletproof vest, and Vasyl Stus can be compared to the Ukrainian flag. These are images that must always live in the mind, media space of a healthy nation in order to reach out to such people and go the right way, ”the singer commented on his participation in the project.
