Ukraine has allocated a tenth of the budget for filming. It will be presented at the Berlinale
A trailer for the movie about the Holodomor in Ukraine appeared. The video appeared on the official YouTube channel FILM.UA Group.
The picture was taken jointly by Poland, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. On the Ukrainian side, 26 million hryvnias were allocated to the tape, which made about a tenth of the picture's budget.
The film was directed by famous Polish screenwriter Agnieszka Holland. The historical thriller will be presented at the Berlinale International Festival.
According to the film, the main character of the Welsh reporter Gareth Jones enters the USSR during the famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933. He begins his own investigation, revealing the horrific truth.
The film will premiere in Ukraine on November 28, 2019.
