Ukrainian film is on the list of contenders for the Oscars: what is known

Director Nariman Aliyev's Ukrainian movie "Home" has been nominated for an Oscar nomination in the "International Feature Film" nomination

The film tells the story of Crimean Tatar Mustafa, who lost his son during the war in eastern Ukraine. He decided to bury the baby at home in the Crimea, after which he went with his younger son on a trip. Akhtem Seitablaev and Ramzi Bilyalov starred in the film.

The movie "Home" also claims the European Film Academy award. In Ukraine, this film was awarded the Grand Prix of the Odessa Film Festival - "Golden Duke", which is awarded on the basis of the audience's sympathies.

As you know, the Oscar-winning shortlist will be announced on December 16, 2019, and nominees - January 13, 2020.

The 92nd Academy Award for Cinematography Achievement will be held on February 9, 2020 in Los Angeles.

The movie "Home" has already been presented at the Cannes Film Festival, where it has received the approval of film critics. The ribbon was included in the "Special Look" competition program. The world premiere of the film took place on May 22.

In August, it became known that the Ukrainian Oscar Committee has completed the reception of applications for national films in the selection for the Academy Award of the American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in the category "International Feature Film" from Ukraine.
