Acceptance of films for the fourth National Film Critics Award "Kinokolo"

30 July 2021

From July 29 to August 27 inclusive, filmmakers can apply for the National Film Critics Award "Kinokolo".

Due to limited rental and festival distribution opportunities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020–2021, films that have not previously had a theatrical release may be considered by the Award Committee for the second year in a row. Thus, films that were first shown in Ukraine (for rent or at a festival) in the period from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, or those that were produced during this period, are accepted. Tapes previously nominated for the Prize cannot be nominated for the Prize.

This year, two new nominations were also introduced - for Best Screenplay and "For Achievement".

Films that meet the regulatory requirements can be nominated in the following categories:

  • The best full-length feature film (feature films with a duration of more than 60 minutes are accepted)
  • Best Short Feature Film (Feature films with a duration of less than 40 minutes are accepted)
  • Best Documentary (Documentaries (full-length and short) accepted)
  • The best animated film (animated films are accepted (full-length and short))
  • Opening of the year (feature and documentary films are accepted, which is the director's debut)
  • Best Director (Candidates who are film directors are accepted)
  • Best Actor (nominees for leading male roles in the film are accepted)
  • Best Actress (nominees for leading female roles in the film are accepted)
