The 9th Kinosaray Positive Film Festival has announced the winners

On the night of June 28, the winners of the 9th Kinosaray International Positive Film Festival were awarded. The winners of the festival's competition programs, the Leonid Kanter Special Prize "For Passion and Fire" and the Grand Prix were awarded.

The Grand Prix of the film festival was awarded to the animated film "Deep Water" directed by Anna Dudko. "Somewhere in the depths of the subconscious, we are all equally naked and defenseless against our desires," added the jury members about the tape.

The Leonid Kanter Special Prize "For Passion and Fire", founded last year by director Yaroslav Popov, was awarded to Maria Saulko for "Dispersion" "for an open story about finding your place in this world and the inner light that is always with us."

The prize for the best film of the program on sustainable development "Asparagus Forest" was awarded to the Turkish film "Fount / Source" directed by Evrim İnci. As members of the jury noted, "this is a documentary about dried lakes and deep scars in the lives of migrants."

In addition to the award, the winner received a gift from the recycling agency "Re: ban", which gives a second life to used advertising banners, making them bags, bananas, backpacks, laptop cases.

The prize in the category of short international feature films is awarded to the film "Big Touch", directed by Christopher Tenzis, USA - for the expressiveness and conciseness of the statement that we all need an outstretched hand in time.

The award for best short documentary international film went to "Here is Hoping", directed by Mirosław Kłopotowski, Poland, for the tenderness, humor and elegance of the story of a friend of an elderly woman and a young man, the author of the film.

The international animation competition also had its winner - the animated film "Little Happiness", directed by Verónica Casimiro Rosales, Junior's Juarez Shuan, Peru.

The prize in the competition program "Short Ukrainian Feature Films" was awarded to the film "Suffer a little" directed by Lyubov Goncharenko - for a fine sense of spoken language, convincing dialogues and work with actors.

The prize in the category "Short Ukrainian Documentary Films" was awarded to the film "White Pearl of Kryv-Jazz" directed by Andriy Khokholkin about a former drummer in a children's jazz band from Kryvyi Rih. "Sometimes yesterday's musician becomes a taxi driver, so it happens, this is life. But this does not mean that there is no place for jazz in the life of a taxi driver, "the jury said.

A special prize (free accreditation and preselection) from the Ji.hlava Documentary Film Festival in the Czech Republic was awarded to director Zoya Laktionova for the film "The Territory of Empty Windows". The program department of the film festival in Jihlava noted the picture for its poetic nature, bold study of the aesthetic form and at the same time conveying to the audience the importance of the theme.

Olga Gavrilova's film "The War That Changed Rondo" became the best Ukrainian animated film.

The winners were determined by the jury of the 9th Kinosaray consisting of film director and writer Iryna Tsilyk, cinematographer Serhiy Stetsenko, animator director Rodion Shuba and sound director Maria Nesterenko. There were also creative meetings with them.

The winner of the Pitahaya Dumok children's film competition was determined by a children's jury consisting of Magdalena Kanter, Nayana Mostova and Ruslana Turkova. The winner was "Eraser / Eraser", directed by Jamie Kassler, Japan.

The award ceremony was preceded by a performance by Flora Borovik in collaboration with the ethno-group FOLKNERY and soloist Yaryna Kvitka. The festival also hosted a master class from Ecodia "How to measure the quality of water in your community."

The project of the 9th IFF of positive cinema "Kinosaray" is implemented within the partnership program "Culture. Tourism. Regions ”of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine (CEU) and the State Agency for Tourism Development.
